It took me like 45 seconds just to find the submit art button, I am so tired at the time of this writing.
Title is from a sweet song by Imogene Heap called "It's good to be in love."
Blue and black are my favorite colors, and they're also my Shepard and Garrus' colors, so I really wanted to do something with them and their colors. After a ridiculous amount of time and many MANY iterations, I bring to you the wallpaper I promised after I did [link]
Now, for some useless fun facts about this piece:
1. I (obviously) changed the concept art Shepard to fit my Tempest Shepard's looks i.e. black hair and blue eyes. I think I'll be using her again in some other piece in the future (that lovely red hair fought me to go though...)
2. Garrus over there comes from the Art of the Mass Effect Universe artbook. Saw him and couldn't resist.
3. I originally had a lot more text but no matter what I did, the picture was too busy (it's always too busy- in my art I put too much, in my writing I put too much, I talk too much, meh)
4. The swirl in the middle is supposed to be at an attempt to be a galaxy type thing. My second time using liquify tool.
5. The font is called Sweetly Broken. I nearly cried when I saw that
6. I know there's 2 billion pics with those quotes, but I couldn't think of anything more fitting for this particular picture once I was done.
And all the artwork, characters and whatnot belong to BioWare and EA and all that legal crap.
I think this is a really good piece. I love the watery whirlpool you have going on, and I think how you matched Garrus' lithograph to the new FemShep poster pic is brilliant, perfectly balanced with the pictures of the two of them in sweeter guises in the centre. Very good!
My sister and Mum thought it was stupid I got emotional over a game, but you've created your Shepard... You've chosen their personality and who they want to be with... Scenes like that just hit you hard... ;A;
